Fulvia scam on eBay

Unread post by Ed Levin »

Fair warning

eBay item 200119992288 is a scam. It's now up for the second time in 2 weeks (apparently the first 'winning' bidder backed away slowly...). It showed up on the Alfa BB as a possible scam, and I immediately recognized the 'bought in Treviso' description and contacted Jaan Hjorth, who actually did buy this car in Treviso. His e-mail reply follows:

Wow!

Thanks for the tip.

This is the second time somebody has tried to sell that Fulvia (Without
owning it!) on eBay. You would think a crook would sell something more
common like a white Miata.

Well, off to tell the eBay fraud dept.

I bet that guy couldn't find Treviso on a map!

Stop by & visit if you're ever in town, & hi to the Alfa Bulletin Boards,

Jaan.

After we came back from the Centenary Celebrations in Turin last year, a friend in Holland sent me details of a website in Milan where my Fulvia 2c was for sale & carrying it's UK number plates, the photo shown was an old photo I had taken about 5 years previously !
I emailed the site pointing out that the car belonged to me & was not for sale, nor had I given anyone else permission to sell it!
I never received a reply but it quickly disappeared off the site.
I note the fulvia item 200119992288 is no longer listed.
