Fulvia Zagato in Manchester

Hello
We are in Manchester and we have a red Fulvia Zagato sport, the mechanics are in excellent working order, as is the interior (red leather)
The bodywork, though is not so great and we would like some help in either finding someone that would be able to help us restore it locally or finding someone that might be able to persuade us to part with it.
It is 1972, we`ve had it for 15 years now.

If you want to sell it then contact the adminstrator of the UK LMC (http://www.lancia.myzen.co.uk/forum/). Contact link is at the bottom of the page, and he will arrange for you to put an advert on the site. Put it on here as well (http://www.viva-lancia.com/lancia_forsale/index.htm).

Regarding service specialists try looking on this (http://www.lanciasport.com/lancia_deale ... SGuide.pdf). Omicron would be the best place to go, but they are in Norwich.

I can recommend Lee Scott Restorations who did my 1600 sport last year. He has learnt all there is on mine having never seen a Zagato bodied fulvia before. He is really good at adding new metal. However he is in North Essex. Currently the waiting list is short.

I love Z's in red !! My kids love all Fulvias in red !! My wife would get in a 'notma' Fulvia in red again , as longs as it isn't the one that is parked (I hope) in our garage.

Having said that I plan to look a car with Z headlights this weekend, but it isn't a Z. Who knows what is is ?

PS: J Jr is the warehouse man this weekend, so I will go alone. His comment is "yeah, lets buy it...it is really cool & even Mom (a Y driver) will like it* !!

* Lancia Y drivers can develop a "better than you" attitude quite easily...perhaps with justification :)

Citroon Ami 8; I have no idea if it was even sold in UK; I've seen 1, in a museum ... not only the lights are Lancia Z, the light surround-frames are as well !!!

Wow - are you buying for the lights!!

Let me know if the lights are concave or convex!!!

Yes Ami 8 was in UK in small numbers. I was a Diedie (Citroen Dyane) fan before lancia - had 3 or 4 including the small 400cc and one 2CV which was not as fun or practical.

we are maybe buying it because:
a) so the slower Ful'sti don't have to risk their lives chasing a "insanely fast & wild team J & J", in a red 'Fulvy Z that smokes a Pipe'; on the 09 Fulvy-Run Benelux/Fr, ;), which we may 'pass on' in 09...for 50 different reasons !
b) ...as rolling billboard; for different purposes (tu)
c) as J Jr's 1st 'own-car'; very lo-insurance: low road-tax, which is based on cc) so low that it isn't worth registering these cars as "Historical Vehicles"'*; *which means 'almost no tax'
d) so slow it isn't ever going to get any 1 in trouble
e) e-z to reinforce from within...especially padded cross-bars on which to mount 'headrests', F & R... creating a semi-cage (I done it b4; is recommended for any 'headrestless automobile); design similar to the Fulvy Z tower rear cross-strut.
f) fits the image that J & J (OK, 'B' too) have worked so hard to create & maintain... screaming "we are not you & don't need to be" in a neighborhood filled with roaring 911's, various newy cabrio-coupes & hot Mini's.
g) the company buys it; depreciates it for 2 years & sells it to some 1 named John at a ridiculously low price
h) low cost to maintain (we are close to France)
i) economical &I understand ... impossible to roll ...which has nothing to do with being economical, but who cares :P
j) if we buy either, we expect to have "lots a fun in the slow-lane" ( Fulvy is for the 'semi-fast lane' & boxer motor Gamma for the falmost fast lane)
k) we can introduce ourselves as "Jean-Claude le Amour" & wear berets, can let wet smoking Gallious ( I don't even know how to spell this cigarette brand) or Gitane (is that wrong too?) hang from our lower lip as we snarl obscenities (at least what were ob'ties in the 50's in black & white films shot on the Marselle waterfront.B)-
m) it will be cool :D beyond anything in our town; even cooler than a Fulvy.
n) we will reduce the worlds supply of anti-rust wax & tar-sealant, thereby adding ? kg to the car; so it won't suffer terminal rust after 30 days !!!
o) zero deprecation & we don't see any rust !!
probably more reasons too; but we are laughing too much to write much more !!!

The D looks good but with only 425cc engine when you open the bonnet (hood) all you see is the spare tyre!!!!!!!

A D with the 602 cc engine is the way to go!

spoke to the Ami owner today; who cried while telling me what € he put into it. He is selling because, after yrs of looking, he found a "cherry Ami Super". He asked me to not ask him what he paid for it...but he mentioned something about € 12,000 restoration cost .. just before he bought it !

Ouch; it isn't a Fulvia Zagato !!!
He works in Zurich. Both cars are registered in Saarland. He is selling 1, since he has time to drive neither- Like me; I have not driven any of our Lancia for weeks ... but I have been putting some serious km on otthe vehicles.

For the D, I decided on Sunday. I'm not the only 1 tending toward the Ami; the Doctor told me that a D can't compare with an Ami, "in any sphere. He has owned simple 2CV's & the Dyane is a 2CV under the skin.

More (non Fulvia) news to follow !!
