Wrong magnet disc on electronic ignition

Some of the electronic ignitions I delivered have an alignment error on the magnet disc. The rotor is not properly aligned with the contact. It is easy to check. Take the cap off. If the contacts are badly burned on one corner, the disc and shaft have to be replaced. If there is an even burning mark across the contact you are ok. See attached photo.

The replacement of shaft plus disc and cap will be done under warranty. Please contact me.

Note that it is always a good idea to have a spare cap and rotor in the boot. On conventional ignitions the shaft is split. The top part carries the rotor AND the cams for the contact points. The rotor is thus always in the same position when the spark occurs. On ignitions with electronic dynamic advance the rotor position changes with the dynamic advance which puts a heavier load on the contacts.
