Hallo Everybody,
I'am the proud owner of a Fulvia Zagato 1968 s1 ,ch nr 818332002406,can anyone please tell me the dimensions of the outer circlip on the driveshaft? The car has an engine with number 818342-1847 do you
think the engine could be original?

Jonas,
I don't know about the circlip, but your engine almost certainly isn't original. The bad news is that your engine type should be 818.302, but the good news is that 818.342 is a 1.3HF engine--rarer and more powerful.

Which circlip do mean - the small (~ 22mm) circlip that locates the CVJ cartridge on the shaft, or one of the metal strip clips that hold the rubber boot ?

Omicron sell them, and I'm sure most of the mainland Euopean specialists do as well.
As they are spring clips (not circlips) they have to be small enough so that when compressed in the slot they will pass through the splined hole in the CVJ cartridge, but big enough so that they spring out enough without falling out of the slot once installed - they are not accurate pieces of tool room production, so you could measure them up yourself on that basis. Circlips cannot be used on the outer joint as it is a blind hole.
I would just call one of the specialists and buy a dozen. They are cheap, and having a few spares is a good idea as the outer ones invariably break when you come to split the drive shaft again.
