Grundig autoradio & MP3

Unread post by MP3 & Grundig »

Hallo!

Ich bin nicht aus Deutchland, und mein deutch is sehr schlech. I will write in english, but you can write in german, because I understand.I just can't write.

I have Lancia Lybra SW 2001 with grundig autoradio without navy. I would like to know if anyone of you have some ideas how to play mp3's in my Lancia.
I was looking for RadioFreqency changer, but it is unusefull, because each town has other frequencies. Then I have tried with mp3player and cassete adapter, but it is dangerous to change music on mp3player, because the commands are not on radio.

I would like to know any other ideas. Does Grundig produce any suitable MP3 changers?

Hi,

Ithink, there is a GRundig Harddisk MP3player (30 GB)avaible which works with every Grundig-Radio thar has a cd-changer-connector. It comes with its own control device whicxch has to be mounted somewhere at the dashboard.

I have bought an iPod from Apple (40 GB) and also the "IceLink" from Dension.
The Cradle is mounted on a metal plate which is hold by the srew from the A/C Controlpanel (originally thought to hold a cellphone)

The Sound is great and you can control the iPod with the CD-Changer Controls.
To be axact, this is skipping forward and backward in the actually chosen playlist and winding fast forward and backward in the actual song. You can't change playlists with the radio, that has to be done on the iPod itself.

Ther is a new "IceLnk Plus" which i don't know yet. Maybe that device is capable of changing Playlists through radio commands...

Just one little itch I've found that 'could' be a bit annoying:
From time to time it skips a few songs (1 to 4) when manually skipping to next song.
But this might be a bug within the 4th generatin iPods as I've found a lot of complaints about this phenomena not in conjunction with Icelink.

Hope that helps and a happy new year 2005!

Hello,

I've bought a CD-casette adapter and a pod-pod (e-bay) to put my I-pod in the can-placeholder. I haven't yet the pod-pod but I think it's a way to easy handle the buttons on the Ipod itself. You just only have the wire from casette to Ipod and a little noise of the casette, but it's a way to have both have CD-changer and MP3.

best wishes (hope it will be a good year for Lancia).

Hello Jan!

This solution seems very good to me. Is it possible, that you make a photo, how this thing looks in your car and send it to my email mpivk@email.si

Can you tell me, which model did you buy, and how much did you pay for it. I looked at Dension's web page, but Lancia is not in the list of supported cars. Which model did you buy.

Hi,

I'm sorry but I do not have a digital camera nor a cellular with camera. So there are no photos available. Maybe I'll ask a friend for lending me his camera...

I have the 40GB 4th generation iPod (klickwheel) - 425,-Euro.
I've orderer the IceLink-Set for generic Grundig radios at www.maxxcount.de and what I get was a Package for FIAT / Grundig AD182H/ AD182H2. (I've mentioned that I do have a Lanci Lybra at the order).

This should be like my set but this one is the newer IceLinkPlus.

Maybe this one should fit your needs. You can choose different type of connection: cradle for iPod mini or regular iPods, also a cable-only connection is avaiable if you would like to put the iPod in the glovebox or somewhere else. But You shold consider, that no title-information is provided by the radio. only the display from the iPod will show you titles etc. ( as far as my experience with IceLink prove that. maybe the IceLinkPlus will show Information on the Radio?)

The set which I've bought consisted of
- The cradle with a cable (about 80cm long)
- The IceLink
- Cable from IceLink to Sony CD-Changer (!)
- A converter box from Sony to Grundig
- A cable from that box to mini-ISO for the Radio

I paid 189,- Euro - now it's 149,- Euro - what a pitty!

It took me about an hour to build it into my car.

I also ordered a Brodit holder for holding the cradle. This has to be installed between the glovebox and the A/C control but my Lancia dealer had another one made of metal which is installed at the lower left screw from the A/C control. It also looked better so now i have a Brodit-Holder for no use.

You have to remove the ashtray, the A/C, the bloweroutlets the cupholder and the Radio itself to install it a way that you will not see any cables hanging around. A CD with working-Instructions from Lancia saved me a lot of time doing the disassembly.

good luck!
