Shake well before use!

Unread post by Huib »

I read Peter's remark about the vertically mounted ignition coil of the Fanalone. It reminded me to do this posting.

Ignition coils are cooled either by oil or by compound. One that is cooled by oil has to be mounted vertically, either top up or top down. If not, part of the windings will not be immersed in oil. Don't mount them horizontal nor at an angle but absolutely vertical.

The compound cooled coils can be mounted in any position.

If you don't know whether your coil has oil or compound, shake it well next to your ear. If it has oil, you will hear it.
