Hello,
Just learned that seemingly new FIAT Head Herbert Demel decided to cancel the already eagerly anticipated new Fulvia!
Please get everybody to respond accordingly!
Finally Lancia would have had a new model to make the missing link between glorious past and exciting future - and now that!

Protest dropping of new Fulvia
Re: Protest dropping of new Fulvia
Sorry, can you say, what shall we write in that e-mail to Mr Demel?
Re: Protest dropping of new Fulvia
Hello Jaka,
I was travelling recently, hence didn't have a chance to check any responses, sorry. Actually, write what you feel about it.
I was quite angry, for after years of neglect of the Lancia model range at last things seemed to move in the right direction. So I'm afraid my email to Mr. Demel got rather long. I just used the opportunity to get rid of all the annoyment. But here's what I wrote (by the way I noted that in the rush of things I didn't place my request in the proper english site ....I am not very proficient in forum communication...sorry):
"Dear Mr. Demel,
I just learned that there is an intention to cancel the Nuovo Fulvia.
I urgently protest!
Many people that have NEVER in their life driven a Lancia all of a sudden were looking forward and were strongly tempted to buy Lancia !!!!
This is an unequalled ne product response almost impossible to achieve by even advanced marketing schemes!
As the original Fulvia is so well known in motoring circles because of its sporting past it has widespread attention from many car enthusiasts, whatever their inclination.
Finally there would have been a model that would have brought the missing link from glorious past to an exciting, promising future.
THE SPORTING SUCCESSES OF LANCIA ARE UNEQUALLED BY NEITHER ALFA OR FIAT
THE INGENUITIY OF NEW LANCIA FROM LAMBDA TO APRILIA TO AURELIA RIGHT UP TO THE FULVIA IS UNEQUALLED BY NEITHER ALFA NOR FIAT
THE MARKETING FORCES OF OTHER MARQUES CAN ONLY DREAM ABOUT MAKING USE OF SUCH
A SUCCESSFUL PAST: LANCIA DELTA SIX TIMES WORLD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP. WHAT DID YOU MAKE OF IT FIAT PEOPLE? ZERO, ZILCH, NOTHING.
YET FIAT FOR POLITICAL REASONS NEVER MADE USE OF LANCIAS SUCCESS
THIS IS A FIRST ORDER MARKETING MISTAKE EVERY RESPONSIBLE PERSON OF THE FIAT PAST SHOULD BE PUBLICLY PUNISHED FOR
DESPITE ALL NON-MARKETING ATTEMPTS LANCIA'S HISTORY AND IMAGE IS VERY MUCH ALIVE IN PEOPLES MINDS
Now interesting models are here:
Ypsilon brought widespread attention from people never driving Lancia before
Lybra Estate is excellent value for money and much more charismatic than any Audi or VW
Thesis stands out head and shoulders from Merc E-Class, BMW 7er, Audi A6 -completely timeless, idiosyncratic design and a clear statement of refinement and luxury
New Fulvia would have brought thriving strong new model in missing coupe segment
Please revise your plans. Make use of Lancias excellent and still very vivid image: you won't find a marque easier to revive. Especially in Austria complete lack of proper marketing for more than two decades and has caused poor sales.
Only the decision to fail to make use of the Delta Integrale successes alone are a marketing mistake of such a dimension, that in the days of sailing marine a mistake of that sort would have brought the person 40 lashed with the cathead.
Once more, please revise your plans.
I used to be proud about all the clever people in the automotive world coming from Vienna. Please don't let me regret that.
Sincerely,
Horst Rebernik,
Vienna ! "
