Can anyone help explain the following symptons on a S1 Fulvia coupe.
Uneven tickover,revs hovering for a period after releasing throttle then gradually droping back down to an uneven tickover.

All help gratefully recieved.

I would look into the carbs first.

Check for play on the spindle bushes

Clean carbs and jets. Watch out for the valves of the accelaration pumps. They consist of a small weight and a tiny steel ball. Both (x4) fall out if you hold the carb upside down with the cover off.

Since it does return to idle eventually I put my money on bad mixture on at least one cylinder due to dirt or play on the spindle bsuhes.
