crumbling of dashboards’ foam-rubber

Dear freinds,

I have a Lancia Flavia Coupè Pinifarina 1.8 with carburetor of first series (1964).

The peculiarity of this car, registered in Italy, is the right-hand drive; thing very unusual at that time for Italian cars.

The typical Flavias’ defect – especially for the ones manufactured in the first half of the Sixties – is the crumbling of dashboards’ foam-rubber.

In my case, this car is even without the dashboard upper ‘eyelid’and in the lower part the foam-rubber is completely deteriorated (note that the instrumentation has the tape-speed indicator!).

I tried to find this item in Italy but I did not succeed.

Therefore I turn to You for a help, first of all because the right-hand drive is characteristic in Great Britain and then because in your Country there is a great interest in spares and rebuilding of parts of aged cars.

I would like to know the availability and price of this item before buying it.

Right hand drive Lancias were rather common in Italy in the 50 and early 60s, particularly Aurelias, Appias and Ardeas. Every Italian truck moreover was right hand drive in Italy until the late 60s ! So your statement is not exactly correct.
