Problem shifting 2.0 lit automatic

My Kappa has problems shifting in the cold.. When it is cold it takes it up to 10-15 kilometers to warm up and actually shift to the highest gear. (automatic) this is really reducing my killometers to the tank by about 50-75 kilometers... I can get up to 700 killometers on 62-65 liters but when it is cold I can only get about 650 because of the shifting problem.. Is the trans vacume controled or electronic controled?

By the way I drive 120kmh on the autobahn because of gas prices and the car usually keeps about 2600 rpm but when it isn't shifting it is over 3200rpm.

What can I do?
Thanks all!
David

The trans is electronic controlled and you should check with a Fiat dealer the on-board diagnosis system and see what error reports are stored for the transmision. Not much of a DIY job possible with all that electronic controls, I guess.

Btw, how old is your trans oil?

Thanks for the reply, I had the Trans oil changed about 30, 000 Kilometers ago. Thanks JochenK,
Guess I will need to go to Lancia.

JochenK, Thanks! I had the car at Lancia yesterday and it did have a computer error (water temperature-signal bad) I will be getting the temperature switch today (43.euro) I hope it is the only problem :)
