Last in is the not so uplifting news that the top engine of the fulvietta will be a GM sourced engine. The good news is thst it will be completely new and a 2.0 turbo.
which brings me to the second news flash, involving a integrale variant. if you at this up I think: WRC in 2006?

Fulvietta based on new Punto platform sporting GM engine
Re: Fulvietta based on new Punto platform sporting GM engine
Salve a Tutti,
The fact that the engine will be an all new GM engine is not really as bad as you might think. If it comes from Fiat-GM Powertrain, the joint venture set up between Fiat Auto SpA and GM two years ago, then the architecture of the engine will have the very best of both companies. The small engine experts at Fiat and those at Adam Opel both have great engineering expertise and it only makes sense that they would produce an outstanding engine. I also know that lately the quality of GM overall has been on the rise these last few years, just as that of Fiat Auto SpA (and it's subsidiaries) unfortunately have been in a bit of a rut as of late -- The sharing of platforms and technology can only improve the "perceived quality" of both marques, lead to better economies-of-scale, increase credibility and lead to an overall better product. Of course that's only my opinion...
A Presto,
Nicola
