Hello,

I've got a 2.5 model... I'm thinking about changing my carb for a 3C.

Do you think it's a good idea ? How much will it cost ? What do I need to change ?

the question is, what you expect from this modification. Every engine type was well balanced by the Lancia engineers. If you miss performance you should check the existing equipment and have it repaired.

For a modification you will need complete set of carburators, inlet manifold, heating valve (mounted at the rear of the manifold), distributor, camshaft. The stronger engines were equipped with bigger water pumps.
Finally the gear ratio of the stronger cars was different and the drive shafts and their universal joints were dimensioned for higher torques.

To answer your question, good idea? I dare to say no.

P.S. I tried a conversion from single carb to 3B version and returned to standard finally.

I share Mr Enbergs remarks
His list of items is nearly complete, you probably will have to alter the Throttle linkage system (pedal to carburettor valves) as well, from experience with a friend who changed a 3B to a 3C that was a significant undertaking in itsself.

Generally it is felt that the single carburetted engines, though giving less power do run smoother
