Flaminia berlina doors

Replacing the runs of the glass of the doors I had trouble to get the window out. After unscrewing both guides (art., 25,27 tav 112) i had to cut the runs to get out the guides and the windows glass.
I am wondering how you should mount the glass window after you have put new runs (art. 5 tav 112) in the door frame and the seperate two guides 25 and 27.
Who has got experience with the mounting and what will be the right order for the proper mounting.
The doors of the Flaminia berlina are complicated and I know that the sparepart list contains 17 pages of the front doors, bu I fell in love with this car and I like to bring her back in original beauty.
Before finding it out by muself I hope for a collegue has has done this job already.

Hi Michele:

I am delighted that you are working on a berlina. So many of them were junked or stripped for parts for the other models.

I have not done the job you are now working on, but I thought of something. Is it possible for you to slide the window glass into the runs BEFORE you install the guides and then prop up the window in a fully closed position until you install the guides? I think that's what I would try. The berlina was built by hand in the old Borgo San Paolo works so I assume that there is nothing on them that cannot be done by hand again. Although I must confess I've had some real fun trying to get to some of the vacuum lines on that car!

Best of luck to you.

I thouth about it too, but the problems remains the two holders in the doors. Once you put the runs in the holders, you can not positioning them any more. Choosing the right height for the two screws seems to me a lottery. It is very hard to get this kind of information, that means as you stated, very few Belina's are running and even Jeand de Barsy did not touch this issue with his restoration. I am not in a hurry because I am taking the paint of of a re-paint and that is also quite a job

Dear Michele,

Finally after 2 years... here's an answer to your question!

Maybe the job is done by now, but anyway, here's how I did it. I think I left the window in the door, lowered it to the max and left the guides in place. Once teh window was down I removed the old cloth material inside them starting from the top of the door. Once this material removed I installed the new cloth profile into the guides. It was quite easy as I recall it. Only difficulty is to cut these U profiles in a clean 45° angle so that they form a close square in the corners!

Best regards,
