Ardea 4th Series Colors

Unread post by Donald Osborne »

Hello,
Can anyone tell me where I might find a list (and description) of the colors available for the 4th series Ardea? I've got a 1952 which I would like to repaint.

Thanks,
Donald

In the July/August 1990 Ruoteclassiche there is a nice chart of colors for old Lancia [and Fiat and Alfa Romeo]. The article is by Alfredo Albertini, but I was told that it results from work by Alfa archivist Elvira Ruocco with paint manufacturers Max Meyer and Lechler. The article has the names of the colors, and the old Alfa and Fiat codes, but it also has current manufacturer codes which can be used to blend correct colors. This is important because most available mixing codes reference unavailable obsolete toner systems. For the Ardea II/III/IV, these colors are listed:

Blu Antille 1187
Amaranto 8027
Verde 1171
Grigio acciaio 1174
Grigio chiaro 1050
Bruno 1176
Beige 1175
Nero 8036

The numbers are for Lechler. By the way, I need a small sample of a Lechler paint number to test a match for my 4th series B20. Lechler is N/A in the USA.
