iPod connected to the stereo

Hey,
Is there anyone who have some experience about connecting the iPod to the stereo in a Lybra 1.8 2000 model?
A friend of mine has that kind of connection in his Golf 2000 model and it works fine.

How to select tracks and control the audio system, using iPod ? Is it possible to use the buttons on navigation block and steering wheel, or the control buttons on iPod only ?

I'm using Ipod Shuffle,and you can navigate only with Ipod's buttons.That's because the only connection between audio system and Ipod is simple audio cable.

One of the Moscow’s company constructs the special adapters for cars music systems. For example:

Using this adapters, it is possible to connect iPod to the music device, and iPod will activate as CD from the changer. So, we can control iPod as the standart CD, using the buttons from navigation panel. I asked this company about adapter for Lybra and waiting now. It is more interesting, in my opinion, then simple connection to LINE IN.
