Lybra CD changer

Unread post by Peter Crosbie »

Hi all

Just bought a slightly used Lybra with the Bose sound system ... but no CD changer. I've been informed that I should look for a Grundig MCD 30, MCD 36 or even 46. One garage told me to get an MCD 30, another that I needed a 36, and someone else to go for an MCD 46 because they work better with CDR.

Anyone have any more precise info on what I should be looking at?

Thanks.

I bought my used Lybra without the cd-changer aswell. Why don't you order your cd-changer through a lancia dealership? That's what I did. I don't have a clue on what kind of Grundig player they installed, but it works very well.

Hello,

I have MCD 30, installed additional and works OK. About dealer options;
why throwing the money away? dealership price is app. 430 EUR and I bought it
for 180 EUR and installed it by my self. But take care of disconnected cable in front
below the steering wheel if main cable is already set in to the back of your car. This almost
cost me additional 70 EUR that dealer requested for " unlocking " the original system.

To Vlado,

as I said MCD 30 and MCD 46 both work fine. If you are slovenian give me feedback
as I can provide you original grundig MCD for reasonable price.

I don't believe that an MCD 30 will work in all models. It's what I work .. and it definitely does NOT work in mine ... and this was with a Fiat/Lancia installation guy who knew what he was doing.

As for the cost .. I didn't buy one through Lancia because the price seemed ridiculous. I was quoted over 500 Euro to buy and install. I eventually bought my MCD 36 through eBay Germany for just over 100 Euros, and paid a little to have it installed nicely.

FWIW.

Hi all,

I bought used Lybra 2,0 with Navigation and with the Bose sound system, but without CD changer.
Lancia dealer has suggested me to install the original CD changer for 700 euro, what is in my opinion incredible.
I'm not sure that GRUNDIG CD changer MCD 30, MCD 36 or MCD 46 will be working with the head in my car.

If nevertheless Grundig fits it, which model would work better? Can it be any of Sony models?

Thanks.

To Kasper.

If you have Lybra with navigation system, you must install Becker CD changer
with special soft for Alfa Romeo, Lancia (may be Silverstone 2660 model?).
