I have a 1998 Kappa which experienced a fault whereby on opening the driver´s door, the interior courtesy lights failed to illuminate, even though the infocenter recognized the door as being open. The FIAT dealer recified the problem by replacing a part, which I understood as part of the door closure mechanism.

Now the passenger side is experiencing the same problem. Is this a known fault? Is it something that a can of switch cleaner can cure in five minutes? Last time I paid 75euros plus labour to resolve the problem.

i think that the only thing you can do is clean it with electric cleaner spray.
the problem is with the mechanisim of the ddor it self,the switch is inside so there is no other way to fix it.

In the end I replaced the door lock mechanism - this is a bit of a problem as it necessitates taking apart the door to get at it.
