remote control doorlocks Y 1.4 LX '96

HI
The remote control of my doorlock is broken. The problem is not the key, that works ok.
My mechanic says he can't fix the problem without the 'code'.
I've heard otherwise, that there is a way of fixing it without the code. }
Can anyone help?
