S2 Gearbox rebuild??

We have a 1971 Lancia Fulvia with a 818.630 gearbox that jumps out of fourth gear. We would like to get the box rebuilt, but are having trouble finding someone here in the States that can do it in a timely fashion and without spending a fortune. Do you have any ideas as to US or international gearbox rebuilders we could reach out to? We have a promising lead in Pennsylvania but he is very busy and can't get to the gearbox until December. Hoping we can find a quicker solution.
Alternatively, what do you think about us attempting to repair it ourselves? What parts would we need? What do you think the issue is? Where do I buy internal parts for the gearbox? We specialize in British stuff, so a little out of our normal wheelhouse.
Thank you in advance for any help you can give!

We at Casa Lancia like to rebuild Lancia gearboxes preferably Fulvia, Flavia, Flaminia. We have the experience, tools, parts. In your case there is one complaint. It jumps out of four. Once the gearbox is opened it is a good idea to check other parts like bearings and synchro's. And replace the seals and the bushes at the top. Good communication is required for deciding what else is replaced.
You may first want to check the integrity of subframe, its mounting and the rubbers. It could be that the edge of the hole in the tunnel pushes it out of 4 if the gearbox is not mounted in the correct position.
We are in the Netherlands.

There's a mechanic in The States whose business goes by the name of Eddin's Moto who is a Lancia enthusiast. He has a website devoted to Lancia stuff and amongst it is a section where he documents (photographically) his rebuild of a Fulvia S2 gearbox (I think it was even a 1971). Have a look and it may either prompt you to have a go at it yourself or to possibly give it to him to do. Here's the link:
https://eddinsmoto.com/id93.htm.
I once had a problem where my Fulvia would gradually go into first gear from neutral, causing the car to suddenly start moving forward with no input from me. After a LOT of diagnosis and on the eve of beginning 'exploratory surgery', it was found that the spring that 'cocks' (tensions) the gear selector arm that actuates the lever on the gearbox had broken so the selector arm was 'floppy' and gravity was letting it drop, hence pushing the gears slightly into first. Maybe you should check that spring; it's a long-shot but you never know. It may be causing a similar problem except taking it out of gear instead of pushing it into gear. You can view it by looking into the engine bay from the front and it's towards the bottom of the bay near the gearbox. In my case the remnants of the spring hook was the only thing left hanging on the arm but it may be missing altogether. Because it's not a very thick spring and subject to road water and constant use, they tend to rust and break.
