Fulvia series2 air intake

Unread post by Bobskifiat »

This may have been addressed before, but I couldn't find it with a search. Anyway after removing and replacing the air intake to the cabin for the 3rd time, I figured a way to make life easier and the job less time consuming. Having finally figured that the two rubber grommets on the outside of the intake are meant for a long socket extension to the bolts on the bulkhead..... I used some m6 threaded bar to make long bolts from outside the intake directly to the bulkhead sockets. First, with the intake off, I measured the depth of the socket with the bar, to ensure it would nip up tight. Then I added a locking nut and standard nut to the bar. Held the intake roughly in position and inserted the bar - easy peasy when it loosely fitted. Tightened with fingers, locking the intake in place and added the grommets (now with a tight hole in them), added big flat washers and good old wing nuts.
Jobs a good un!
