need help with piping

Unread post by smokeme »

After having sold my built engine with standalone engine management i'm back to the stock engine and ecu.

After all this time i still haven't made sense of all those small diameter hoses in the battery throttle body area, what i really need is a manual or something along those lines but i can't find anything on the net.

My car is a Thema S2 16V turbo.

The biggest concern is the conection on the metalic tubing on there, most connections were all messed up when some shoemaker installed the LPG system...now i need to figure out where they go. I've never seen a stock Thema or any other Thema 16VT.

Thanks, got the email. I'll get some pics of the areas i have doubts with next time. I seem to have some conections where on yours they are caped off...weird

I'm assuming that you are talking about the metal pipe that the auxiliary bypass valve is connected too via a rubber hose.

I think the additional capped off connection points are for cars that have aircon and/or automatic gearboxes. When the aircon is running a solenoid opens and increases the idle speed in the same way that the Auxiliary Bypass Valve does during warm up.

Check the piping from the auxiliary bypass valve and if you have aircon then look for a solenoid that opens when the aircon is on (sometimes mounted on top of the Airflow meter) track the piping from these points and see if it makes sens

So that's what that thing is for...yup mine does have AC and has a solenoid on the AFM, i though it was something else though (assumed it was overboost related).

Thanks for the help.
