Headlamps S3

Hello.

I have a S3 LS turbo. The dipped beam is completely useless -dangerous in fact, whilst the main beam is really not bad. I have fitted standard wattage bulbs that claim to have 30% more light output. These have made no improvement.

What opinions do you have on the Thema's headlamps? All I can say is that I wish I had my old Dedra lamps on the Thema!

I tried that too, but was warned that they might give me headlamp switch trouble. Anyway, the dipped beam was still useless!

mine are actually good believe it or not. I am thinking of fitting a xenon kit but it may be hard to pass the mot with it.

I do not know whether or not to congratulate you on your good fortune!

I would love to know if this is a general problem or if it is peculiar to my car.

When the weather improves, I shall get out and measure the voltage at the bulbs. If this is not at least 12V, then I shall fit additional relays close to the headlamps and a very fat cable direct to the battery!

My series 2 is pretty crap too.
On the country lanes I have to use fogs or you can barely see the road surface.
My previous series 2 was much better though.

what's wrong with xenons? i like the bluish light

not to mention i've gotten my hands on a pair of headlights that look like they should fit a thema with little mods and use xenon.

Well, it is interesting that others have the same problem.

I shall of course report back if I find anything (when the weather improves of course!).
