Engine bay and shock mounts

Hello

I have been looking at buying a lancia fulvia coupe 1.3s series 2 from 1973, after some inspection I have noticed that the top panel in which the front left shock absorber is mounted which connects to the firewall has separated by roughly 8mm. The photo is too large to attach, is this something that I should be worried about when buying a fulvia coupe or is it simply an easy fix ?

Many thanks

Hamish

That is the visible part of a deep structural damage. This can not and must not be cured by simply fixing the visible issues.

See also http://www.viva-lancia.com/lancia_fora/ ... sg-1371183 and following in the thread.

What you see is probably the result of bad sills and bad subframe.

The shocks are mounted on the subframe.

Looks like incompetent repair of accident damage.
