Injector warning light
Injector warning light
I've done the injector light test on my 3.0 V6 LS, and came up
with 1. 2. 2. 4. - could someone tell me the meaning of
these numbers, please.

Re: Injector warning light
That'll be the lambda probe...or possibly the fuse & or relay feeding the lambda heater - check that first!!

Re: Injector warning light
I had this code on my V6 Alfa 155 for a very long time. Wasted time & money swapping probes and chasing wiring faults until I eventually found that the 7.5A fuse feeding the lambda heater was internally broken. It checked out OK when I bleep-tested it, but in use, it was intermittant. Seems the other common problem is faulty heater relays and relay sockets. Basically, all simple electrical stuff. Probes do fail, but look for the cheap stuff first! An after-market probe is about £30.

Re: Injector warning light
Hi Chris,
haven't done anything to the car yet.
Took it to England last month, and have only just got back
Funnily enough, since doing the test, the light hasn't come
on as much as before. In the 7000 kms trip, it came on maybe
10-12 times, and stayed on for 15-20 secs each time - before
it was on most of the time.
Intend to start on the checks this week - I'll keep in touch.
Regards
Peter

Sounds to me like a thorough cleaning of all the contacts with fine wet & dry sandpaper might be the cure.Peter wrote:

Re: Injector warning light
Finally got round to looking at the car this week. Fuse and heater relay checked out OK,
installed a new sonda llambda, which made no real difference. Ended up cleaning
every connection we could find, including all the ground leads under both headlights.
This has appeared to fix it - except when applying full throttle, when the light comes on
almost immediately, and stays on for about 12 - 15 seconds after easing off.
I have a feeling I'm probably going to have to live with this.
Thanks for your help.
Peter
