Lancia changes logo with the exit of Ypsilon Sport. This new logo gives up all the historical reference marks of the mark. The flag and the wheel disappear... What will become the ADN Lancia tomorrow?

The new logo stinks - and naturally is totally unecessary.

a total waste of money that ought to have been spent on a new Integrale instead! the old Logo did not harm sales of the brand in the 90's and it covered Delta (in all vesions), Beta Montecarlo (in all versions), LC1, LC2 racing and rally cars with pride, success and above all recognition. Furthermore, it had style and one could see that it had history behind it. Why come up with a modern look? I guess its for all the ladies driving Musas and Y's who have no clue of the past which Lancia (Fiat Auto) has been desperately trying to bury with vigour. This looks like another nail in the coffin of the 100 year old tradition of elegance, style, sport and panache. A sad day in many ways, but let's not be too disheatened and hope that we're proven wrong! As they say, as long as there is life, there is hope!

oh phillip, that hurts .........we drive our Y''s 'cause they R economical, reliabl, cumfurtabl (the nu'a 1),
cheep (the olda 1), cheep to insur (both) , never need tires, 'cause they'r diferent to eco-boxs in da na'borhud, (I still luv da design o' da 88 nu'a Y & regret this body' design pasing), 'cause of a briliant auto-trans (nu'a 1) & lastly 'cause our 2 Gamma (s) & 1 Fulvia R seldom: a) parked in da sun b) rained on c) go on mini-trips d) - actualy never o'side wen it is cold & the worse case possible - somethin (expensive) might break if we drive em 2 offen or 2 hard.
Furdermor, we like Lancia Musa's (we like Fiat Ideas 2) - xcept for da price (s). Do U need more reasons (or proper spelling)....... ? J & J & B

sorry to have hurt your feelings but here in Switzerland one hardly sees any men driving a new Ypsilon or a Musa. Don't get me wrong, I think they do a fine job as cars but they do not fit the traditional Lancia image. There just has not been a consistent approach to their marketingsince they decided that Lancia were suppposed to be a Luxury brand without any sporting pretentions. Now they are trying the odd effort to go half way, but for instance, who outside Italy has a clue of what MomoDesign is? And last year they had an Ypsilon on display with glittering faux diamonds on the B pillar...how more macho can you get? 'not'
greetings from Geneva

I wasn't hurt; just having fun..Actually the Mono-design is even less than an "odd effort to go 1/2 way", taking a cute enough little car (new Y), tarting it up w/ mutli-color paint & (probably) charging more € for it didnt make much more sense than the Allesi-design (design ? what design) ; which I till havn't figured out the what or whys of. I initially thought the Momo-design was going 2B a new body style, less Ardea -look (I think the new Y is supposed to have a slight Ardea-like retro-design ?) & more Fulvia, which would've made more Lancia sense. I've only seen a few of 2 color "100 year models" (what & why?) on the road...I think in Germany. We R not such a "big-fans" of the latest Y model in my family (in fact we all like our 98 model better); but we needed to upsize from Lybra Kombi (for busines) & down-size from same car (for private) - so when a negligable-heat-damagedy new Y w/ half-luxus features ( welding sparks fell on the the roof during 'minor renovation' in a Lancia showroom & burned 100's of pin-head size points) was deemed "totalled" & offered at 1/2 prix (after repaint) we took it. Fine car, initially bought by my wife (who decided to keep driving her 98er, because she likes it 10x better. In the 98 she can see where she's going - front & rear - in the new one she couldn't get it to fit her or visa-versa. So I got the 05er & Jr got the my winter-driver 92er ( mag wheels, P3 Pirellis, 5 speed & lots o' fun) & I got the new Y. On a recent 1800 km trip - incl 300km - unexpected alpine detour - (the first 1st trip ever in this Y of 200+ km) - I realized how lucky I am. Yes; I am glad it isn't pink or has diamond trim. @ each business stop we made in France & Italy, our hosts all asked about it - " isn't it too small for long trips; is is comfortable etc".
As you know, great power isn't needed in the Alps, nor necessary when driving thru Switzerland. Actually, some-1 else drove & I mostly slept; not in the Alps, but on the A'bahn/Strada). The (great) driver had lots of praise for it; especially since he covered the fuel costs. No one laughed at us..but they did look at us in a kind of funny-way; since we usually arrive in a Ulyssee Van. Take Care !

my wife saw and loved the moda milano that's the one with silver over printed leather trim and the sparkly pillar covers can't see anything wrong with that the problem is they don't have the car for the man in the family to pair with it (sorry to be sexist but that's how it often is) it makes sense to make a stylish quallity small car to appeal to wives of customers of larger vehicles it's a shame that lancia don't have more such customers the thesis is great as far as it goes but why they can't make it into a real performance car still understated and elegant but with class leading performance (as lancias should be) I don't understand it would not hit alfa sales as they are in a different more extrovert class

I've driven the Ypsilon and find it very appealing and it feels surprisingly large from the inside; its just that its marketing has not been consistent and mostly focused at women. The original Momo design (Orange/Black) went nowhere...that's why I wondered if that branding helps in markets where Momo is a non brand...The latest facelift has definitely improved things and the postitioning seems to be crystallising (sorry for the unintended pun, with diamonds and all) in a more upmarket, serious and unisex fashion. It needs to counter the Mini in terms of overall appeal and I think they are getting there.

so, did you (she) buy it ? I would fell like a "wannabe" (what I would wannabe I don't know) if I drove a Mini..
but then again, I am not a young girl.........where as I feel happy driving any Y ... in lieu of a VW, Renault, Skoda & the likes therof.. Not bad cars, but not Lancias....however; the current dealer-prices of new Y's is anything but a bargain. 3 or 4 years old, yes - they are very cheap...so I recommend to any 1 buying a Y,
buy it for life or till rust do us part.

I can't speak for any 1 but meself; but when I hear 'Momo' I thing only 'steering-wheel'.
when I hear Zagato, I think - wild or wierd (or both) auto-styling.
when I hear Alesi I think "why is it so xpensive" & "does anybody buy that _unk ?.
Did any 1 buy the Alesi Y ? did any 1 buy the Momo Y ?
