' have discovered new simplified Lancia logo on Autoblog.it . Oversimplified now there are two spokes missing from Vincenzos steering wheel etc the remaining spokes reduced to spooky teeth !
Am I alone in my dislike ?

Yes - why change a formula that works and has worked for getting on for a 100 years ?

no, you're not alone in disliking it...looks a little bare and those two spokes look totally pointless if you have no clue that they are vestiges of two spokes of a steering wheel...the old spokes got thicker towards the centre while these look like menacingly dangerous fangs...as though they are trying to prick into something to hold it fast. Well, if its going to help revive the brand in a meaningful way, so be it. Look at the variations Fiat went through with thier logo, coming back to the 'old' look after decades being lost in space sorry, squares

Well, the good news is that its not as bad as the logo of the late 1970's and 1980's, which had absolutely no reference to history.
This one has reference, but like others have pointed out, the references are vague, and for most people, are lost.
Maybe the brightest take on this is that the distance from here to recouping the original logo is not very far. The next redo.... can take them back home again.

agree with your analysis...except that in the 70s and 80s the traditional badge was still on the nose of the cars.

they've lost the spokes....why not go the whole way and superimpose Lancia over an airbag......

Yes, it stinks - to high heaven.
Someone is in urgent need of therapy and probably was paid £100,000 to create this merde.

It would be better to stop Lancia badge for ever.
In this unpoetic era there is not space for Lancia, Rover and so on

Hi Sep, my family has 3 generations of Y's & R very happy driving them daily. And when I visit Ital, I see many many Y's (too bad the previous model isn't still in production; that body-stlye is so very lovely & looks modern, even after so many years),. So, I think thousands of Y' drivers disagree with you. As far as other Lancias produced in recent years; I don't know what to say about the managment-minds in charge of making Lancia decisions: Kappa was a fine car, sales were good in many countries. It deserved to live on; upgraded, face-lifted & eventually restyled...but kept in production...as a flagship. When it was killed there was nothing to replace it. There is still not. Very Sad. Of the models, size-wise, between Y's & Kappa's ...most can be forgotten, however the Lybra had a degree of sucess, the Estate model probably sold better than 4door. It was a 'nice-car', with a degree of sophistication & comfort that isn't easy to find in many better-selling cars. So, it too was killed & where is the replacement ? Is it the Musa ?
VW's are Audi's are Seats are Skodas; Chevrolets are Buicks are Pontiacs, Opels are Saabs; Fords are Volvos etc...so why can't Lancias be a(fancy) Fiats - as long as they are in demand & keep employment up? Finally, I have a feeling that if the new Fulvia isn't a hit...there will be only Fiat-bodied rebadged-Lancia's in the future... I do agree about your comments on Rover..... selling 20 years old Honda's wasn't such a great plan for a future. A friend of mine in London told me about 6 years ago - if you want to buy a good cheap english car, buy a 825 rover - after 2 years they have depreciated by 90%:

The new badge is a graphic mess. It hints here and there - and nowhere. Looks like the buckle of a ladies bag. In short: bad taste.
