Thema 8.32 engine issues

The car has recently been serviced and is generally running well, however I have driven a few and think it can go better. The tickover on idle is a little rough and on a recent run the car behing me could smell a sweet smell of unburnt petrol / additives, no black smoke though. Any ideas?
