hi

in this days i have a problem with the overboost system. the first and "little" lectro vavle works ok, but it seems the second, strong and last one (only works full gas) dont works. i cant feel the power throug the tyres and i think im loosing about 20-25 hp.

i need some help to try solve the problem. i think the system is easy and i will found the reason. the system may be controlated by the bosh or microplex but i dont think the problem is there.

the last solenoid is controlled by the microplex box.(It only works at full throttle and over 2750 rpm and the the pressure is under 0.5 bar and then there is timer in the microplex . I have checked all my wires from the solenoid to microplex and so on, but my overboost i gone too.

im not happy with your problem, but i think this is good because im not the only one.......what can we found the problem ??

the wires connections seems to be ok. i think no one had change them since i have the car (although my thema was in the mechanic four times for diffrerent problems, not with the overboost) so i think maybe the selenoid of the "high" electrovavle is gone, or the microplex dont works.......

i solve the problem !! i can confirm that one electrovavle is broken and do not works.

i mean, it is closead and the turbo was blowing just a little bit. im going to change it and i hope obtain all the power i have lost with this problem.

I have just tried to disconnect the hose to the activator(for wastegate) and the pressure went from 0.5 bar up to 1.3 bar....oooh, so the turbocharger and the wastegate should be ok. Then it must that crappy digiplex/jetronic junk there is the problem. both my solenoid's is working if i connect them to 12v and both the switches is working. anyone got an idea why my overboost wont work? and anyone knows what the normal/overboost pressure should be?

it seems your problem is better than mine....i also review the turbo and the wastegate, then the ecu and microplex, and then i found the problem in one electrovavle.

but if them works with 12 v, the wires conection is correct dont know where can be the problem, but i dont think you will found in the ecu (bosh) or microplex because they are so hard, now you can search for some air leak in the system (pipes).

so you have a gauge installed ?? where have you place it ?? you can send me some pics of this and your car at

il'l try to take a photo. It,s installed right next to the the steering wheel, but i dont know with your's. Mine have leather dashboard.
