Hello!
I just got a active subwoofer Pioneer TS-WX205A with build in 100w amplifier. How do i get power from the battery to the sub? Do i have to draw a new wire from the battery or can i "steal" power elsewhere? And where can i find a grund for the sub in my trunk?

Which version of Thema is this? My S3 has a live battery feed in the trunk, behind the hatch. There is a relay there that provided the isolation for the power to the rear window motors.
Don't know about earlier cars.
There is a ground connection below the lamp assembly on the left hand side or you could use one of the nuts that holds the lamp assembley in place.

It´s a S3 turbo LX (1994). The live feed behind the hatch is that the one with all the red wires comming from it? (sorry about asking silly!). And do you think the wireing can handle a 100w subwoofer or should i install a special wire directly from the battery?

Hi Villads,
Yes the red wires are the live feed. All it does on my car is feed the rear window motors, yours may have the electronic suspension control unit. The 100W sub probably draws about 12 amps maximum and I'm sure that the feeder cable is capable of delivering that. So you can take a connection from the studs inside the little black junction box. Aren't these Themas great, saves you the trouble of running a heavy cable. Operating both rear windows at the same time as having full sub-woofer power should be OK as the fuse for the windows is seperate.
When you have it all working, pump up the volume and I will probably hear it in Scotland! (Beatles song would be good).

Hey

Just to tell you that the sub i working perfektly now. I used the power feeder behind the hatch on the right side of the boot and i used the ground assembly at the backlight as Leo suggested. The sub is a active Pioneer 205A 100 W and it gives i nice bas that blend´s in perfectly with the other speakers. Great investment.
