Can anybody tell me where the rev-limiter cuts in on this engine (Digiplex 2 MED440A)?

Thanks in advance

Paul

you should not obtain more power, just noise about 6000 rpm. this engine is not the typical 16v but has so much par at medium use.

bye

Thanks Kassus, but I was asking because I want to use the ignition system on another engine, not a 2 litre 16-valve engine either...

The engine has special parts and 300 degree camshafts, big valves etc., and revs are quite important!

Hi Paul,

The rev-limiter of my Thema 16V i.e. Pininfarina (1991) with a Marelli Digiplex ignition cuts in at 7.200 rpm.
My 16V is fitted with a cathalic converter but has no VIS.

What kind of engine are you building, and for what use?

Dear Jan,

Many thanks for the information; it's amazing that these data do not appear in the factory manuals!

I am considering installing the lost-spark system on my fuel-injected Fulvia (see No 30 in the Fulvia register on Viva-Lancia.com).

For this car, 7200 is a bit low, but I could probably live with it. The beauty of the system is that there is only one sensor - on the crank pulley - to worry about. I have studied the curves in the manual, and I think that the Fulvia should be OK despite its rather high compression ratio.

Many thanks again.

Paul
