Have encounted a new problem with my 16v turbo se 1991. The windscreen wipers wok, but the intermittant does not work, and wippers don't "park", as in when the wiper control is switched off, the wipers just stop where they are as opposed to parking at the bottom of the screen, very anyoying! Any ideas are much appreciated.

you will most likely find the board has burnt out on the wiper motor i solded a bit of wire onto the board to repair the broken circuit. or you could buy a new one.

The fault is the windscreen wiper motor. Mine did the same. Some cars have a seperate relay for the wipers, but on the thema it is a circiut board fitted inside the motor housing. On mine when i removed it the circiut board was corroided. I changed the wiper motor and all was ok.

I have a H reg 16v Turbo. On the subject of windscreen wipers, when you activate the screen wash, should the wipers start to operate after a few seconds as it does in the Dedra? Mine fail to operate and some times stop in mid wipe if I operate the spray. I once had a similar problem with my Dedra which I resolved by changing the complete stalk unit. Would the same solution fix this problem? (I have yet to get a spare stalk unit to test this idea) or it this function controlled by the circuit board in the motor? Any ideas please? Thanks.

The s2 thema does not have wash wipe feature. some times when operating the stalk for wash you can move it in between speeds which stops the wipers. If this very easy to do the stalk is a fault. OR check that the head light washers are working as the timer circiut could be faulty which can upset the wiper operation.

Paul,

Thanks for the info. From what you have said, it sounds like the headlight washers are causing the fault as they do not operate when the screen wash is activated. Does the same pump operate for both? If not, do you know where the headlight washer pump and timer relay are located? Thanks.
