Looking for 2.8 owners

Hello Everyone,
I am the owner of a 1986 2.8 V6 Thema and am looking for other owners of this great car. They are very rare (haven't seen another 2.8 in at least 4 years now) so it would be great to be able to compile a register of existing cars details. It would also be good to pool any knowledge concerning this particular variant.
If you have one send me an email to
riccardo.gubbioli@uk.dealogic.com
Looking forward to any replies.
Best regards
Riccardo (London UK)

There is a new association which is intended for owners of all cars with a PRV V6 -engine. Lancia Thema V6 is one of them!
Hopefully my association could develop into a useful contact forum and source of information also for these Lancias, which I truly consider as great cars.
Please feel welcome to join the Douvrin PRV Six-Engine Association simply by e-mailing me.
Check out the Association's Sites at:

Hello Pertti,
Thank you very much for your email. Its very interesting to know that there is a PRV association, I hope we can get lots of people to be aware of it and join, the more knowledge the better.
I have found that, in the Lancia V6 at least, its a very good engine, although I also know that on some Volvos this wasn't quite the case.
I would definitely like to join the Douvrin PRV Association, and as I already know of two other PRV Thema owners I will try to invite them to join as well. One of them is here in England and the other in Germany.
Best regards from London

I owned for 2 years (1993 - 1995) and 80'000 km an early Thema 6V, bought from its first owner with 40'000 km on the clock. It was with all the options, 3 speed ZF automatic gearbox, ABS, leather and electric seats. It never let me down, I used it professionnally for long distance travel. It was a very refined and fast car, with satisfactory fuel consumption (11 l / 100 km). I choose it in preference to a 2l turbo version for its effortlessly fast performance. The 3 speed auto worked very well, and acceleration was brisk.
Only non planned servicing was solving a water leak, and revision of the ZF powersteeering rack (oil leaks).
However it is now almost impossible to find such a car (all Themas in fact) in good condition: most have been neglected by their owner, because of low resale value.

Hi Sebastien,
Thanks for your email, its interesting to hear about people's experiences with the Thema 2.8. Indeed, most people seem to agree its a great car and they also seem to regret selling them.
We've had a 2.8 in the family since new, we bought it in 1986. Its green with beige standard seats and has around 133,000 km on it right now. I still use it on a weekly basis, even though it needs some work on the brakes and front suspension. Apart from that I would say its in very nice condition, except the bumpers which are quite scratched in the corners (my dad's bad parking!).
So, how come you sold yours? Its a shame, sounds like it was a nice car. What colour was it?
Best regards
Riccardo
