Chassis/Body/engine numbers

Unread post by Barbuto »

Hi, I'm new to the Forum and interested in the Lancia Flaminia Pininfarina coupe. Being new to Lancia and knowing that many manufacturers used different systems for numbering their products, I have the following questions:
I understand Flaminias had a Chassis number tag on the fire wall and a number stamped into the gutter under the hood. Are those numbers supposed to match in the case of a Pininfarina bodied car?
Are there chassis numbers present anywhere else on the car?
Engine numbers do not match chassis numbers, right?

I appreciate any insights!

Thank you,

Nikolaus

Your informations are correct. The number under the hood is a repetition of the number on the tag, so they match in all the cars, not only in the PF bodied.
The engine number doesn't match to the chassis number.
If you need further documentation, take a look here: http://www.viva-lancia.com/specials/cd/flaminia-cd.php
