Ducellier distributor - correct for S1 Rallye 1.3S?

Hi, I bough a distributor cap and rotor for my 1969 Rallye 1.3S and received Magneti Marelli parts while my car has much smaller Ducellier cap and rotor. The vendor in Italy says I must have the wrong distributor in my car... What type should my car have?

Thanks
Albert

Hi Huib, My car is South African assembled. I also have a S2 assembled in SA which has Magneti distributor. I always though it was just a difference between S1 and S2... The supplier in Italy thinks the Ducillier is a 1.2 Berlina distributor. Hopefully it is not a wrong replacement done at some stage with wrong ignition curve... It is noticibly lazier than my S2...

The 1,2 berlina (Fulvia GT) has the same curve as the 1.3 engines.

I have put the curves on http://www.viva-lancia.com/specials/ignition/index.htm

If you click on the picture, you get an enlargement. You should have curve 2. Best check that first.

My distributor number is Ducellier 4206A. Through Google I found a few more references for this number to 1.3 Fulvias, like this one Ducellier 4206A so I assume it is correct.

For future reference the cap number is Ducellier 19401 (Bosch 1235522805) and rotor Ducellier 18137 (Bosch 1234332805). It appears that this cap and rotor is shared with some Citroen, Renault and Fiats.

I bought my Fulvia in 1975, and it had a Ducellier 4206A distributor fitted. The car is a UK registered1969 model 1.3s coupe. I bought a marelli 105C at a jumble when I couldn't find new points, and have used it ever since.
Does anyone know which is best, or would I be better going back to the Ducellier?

I am very happy with my 123 Electronic ignition. Huib sells them at this website.

Cheers
