Good evening,
I'm reading memories of certain engineer (Mr. Ludovico D'Incerti) who worked in Lancia from 1924 to '29. He also says a British Company was goign to take over Lancia for 200.000.000 lires (too much?) in '27 keeping Vincenzo Lancia chief manager.
Anyone knows which was that company? I'm just curious. If it was, we may have now a Rover-Lancia Group..

That's a new one on me, too. Where are you reading this?

it's a book published recently by an author of Modena (D'Incerti was from nearby). Obviously do not want (and may be I cannot) to advertise and I do not have tools to know that what I read is true. However, the author speaks also above all of Ferrari and Bazzi with many pictures and reproduction of documents

There is nothing wrong with telling the name and author of the book.

''Pionieri dell'automobile: LANCIA, BAZZI, FERRARI'', by Nunzia Manicardi. He also has a book on Mondial, another on Bianchi, and a few others, including one on Stanguellini.

OK, now that we’ve established the correct bibliographical reference, what’s the story? is it credible? and which British firm?

Inquiring minds want to know. And, tragically, not all of us will be able to get to Padova...

I read that book and the sources are inconsistent, probably everything is just an echo inside some aged brains.... the effect of the sales of the Lambda was very effective on the Lancia balance sheets until the early '30s, when the sales of the Augusta made again the same vigorous effects. 1927 was not a critical year for the company. quite another thing, and the finance world didn't foresee the 1929 stock-market crack yet.
However there is also another possibility: a finance group could make the proposal to buy the Lancia UK in Alperton, erasing Lancia from the competition in the UK market. Remember that the Lambda was the best car on the market of the '20s thanks to its skills.
