OUR NEW (black) S3 WAS INSPECTED BY GERMAN TUEV (MOT) -AT LOCAL OLD-AUTO-SPECIALIST SHOP CONTRACTED BY US TO DO EXACTLY THAT. THAT SHOP's OWNER CONTRACTED AN AUTO-ELECTRIC-SPECIALIST TO REWIRE (new wire?) PARKING LIGHTS FRONT & REAR TO FUNCTION AT FLIP OF A SWITCH :EVEN WHEN IGNITION WAS NOT ENGAGED/ENGINE NOT RUNNING.

THE SHOP CREW STATE THAT GERMAN TUEV DIDN'T CARE THAT THIS "REQUIREMENT" WAS PERHAPS NOT A REQUIREMENT IN GERMANY IN 1975 AND ANYWAY, PERHAPS IT WAS A REQUIREMENT IN GERMANY IN 75, NO ONE REMEMBERED ! BUT PERHAPS NOT A REQUIREMENT IN ITALY IN 75 !
WHEN WE SAID "OK, IF IT HAS 2 B - IT HAS 2 B" . THEY SMILINGLY INFORMED US THAT THIS SIMPLE TASK WAS ALREADY DONE, ALONG WITH REPLACING SEVERAL IFFY BRAKE LINES & 1 UNIVERSAL JOINT RUBBER BOOT (from Emporio Ricambi).
TUEV BELIEVED THAT ALL THESE TASKS WOULD BE COMPLETED PRIOR TO RELEASING SAID S3 TO OUR HAPPY LITTLE HANDS; WHICH WAS - OF COURSE - DONE - ALTHOUGH GETTING TO THE SHOP WITH A DRIVER TO DRIVE S3 HOME TOOK WEEKS !!

TUEV REPORTED (at a reinspection; including a re-drive) THAT THE BRAKES WERE FAR IMPROVED AFTERWARDS !!!

TUEV DEMANDS INCLUDED REINFORCING RT-FRONT JACKING-POINT/SURROUNDING WEAK STEEL WITH NEW STEEL.

THE SHOP TRUCKED S3 140km (to arrive at & return from) SPEDITIONE-WAREHOUSE; THE SPEDITION (trucking company) THAT DROVE OUR TRUCK TO ITALY FOR US - LOADING AN S3 PLUS FILLING THE CONTAINER OF OTHER GOODS AT OUR BRESCIA WAREHOUSE.

THEY DROVE TO THEIR OWN UNLOADING RAMP IN ILLSFELD (near Heilbronn. Illsfeld (sick-field, ha ha) Warehouse is the location of Germany Customs, who may wish to control "RESTRICED-GOODS" prior to releasing these goods (after collecting taxes due) to our Warehouse). IN THIS CASE CUSTOMS DID NOT VISIT & NO TIME WAS LOST !

THE ENTIRE "in Germany / IT to DE ransport (for S3) COST IS TAX-DEDUCTABLE !!!

AHEM...THE TOTAL COST WAS... urrrggghhh....NOT MUCH SO TOO VERY TOO HEAVY; BEING ONLY 20% OVER PLANNED-BUDGET; FOR WHICH WE ARE HAPPY; SINCE WE NOW HAVE A MUCH SAFER S3 WITH BLESSING OF ALL WHO INSPECTED / ALL WHO DROVE IT !.

COMUNQUE, WE'LL 'AV 2 SURVIVE ON SPAGHET-POMADORA 4 NEXT MONTHS; SAVING OUR PENNYS & SCHEKLES FOR THE IMPORT OF A BIANCO S3 - WHICH WAS ALSO PURCHASED IN IT IN SAME TIME PERIOD AS NERO S3.

ONCE THAT S3 ARRIVES WE WILL (in family) DISCUSS WHICH S3 TO KEEP & WHICH S3 WE SHOULD SELL

TO DATE ...SO FAR - so have I been informed - OK, no decision required we will just keep both !
