Fascinating to learn that around 1955, with Lancia facing bankrupcy, Gianni's sisters Anna Maria and Eleonora were in talks with Mercedes to buy the company before Pesenti took control. And why Pesenti, a cement company? Lancia could have owed them a lot of money for building the Lancia "tower" in Turin - another Gianni "extravagance". Sadly, the extravagances that brought the company down will be his legacy.
