dashboard

I recently bought a 2.0 IE 16V pininfarina from july 1991. The previous owner replaced a disfunctional speedometer at 172.000km. I have got the old one as well. Both units have an oil-pressure gauge. This oil-pressure gauge doesn't work. The Lancia dealer says that all 16V modells have an oil-pressure gauge, but I saw a 16V (also a 1991 mpdel) with an electricity gage in stead of an oil-pressure gauge two days ago. What am I suppost to have? At the engine block there only seems to be a sensor for the oil temperature. Is there anyone with information?

Like all Lancias, your car sufers from the 'parts bin' problem. There are so many variations of these cars that you can never tell what you should have. If the origianl had an oil pressure gauge (mine has) then so should your new one. I f it doesnt work then its either not connected properly, or the sendor is dead. The sendor is on the bottom of the engine next to the filter (the round thing with a cable and 2 pin plug that gets in the way!!) I would seriously suggest that you get an oil pressure check done as the 16v engine will very soon die if the pressure is too low.

There is an oil pressure sensor on the bottom/right side of the
engine, but not a gauge in the dashboard, only a light in the control
system (the check-panel), on the dashboard there is only a gauge for
the oil temperature.
My speedometer is also jammed, can you please tell me exactly where
the fault is? I think i can repair it with my electronics knowledge.
Thank you!
