Thesis boot lock problem

When I closed my boot it did not make that noise when the electric motor closes/locks the boot. The dashboard now also shows the boot being open. The key button no longer works and I can only open the boot from the back with the key. Any ideas? I am thinking a fuse but cannot see any blown fuses in the boot fuse box.

A fellow Thesist once told about a very similar sounding situation. His problem was somewhat worse because the car had been rear ended in the past and the repair was not too well made, leaving the mechanical lock disconnected from the latch. He had to dismantle the back seat in order to open the boot...
Anyway, the problem was that the latch had stuck in an intermediate position: the warning light tells that the boot is open, but the motor is in the "open" position, and will not release the latch. Try to get access to the actuator wires in the boot lid and feed 12 volts to the wires. Connect the voltage only for a second or two, so that the motor briefly actuates. Try both polarities. This rather probably helps.

Be sure to connect the voltage via a fuse in order to avoid serious damage!

The problem is the opening. It doesn't close automatically because you've opened it with a key, then the electronic closing is switched off. It's a feature when you are going to disconnect the battery so you can close the boot by shutting it down. Have you tried to open it with the remote or via button in the cabin?
