International Mega Gamma Meeting in Torino 2009

Hello Gamma Drivers
a lot of persons have been thinking a lot about, planning a lot about, talking a lot about, with & to a lot of other Gammisti, actually-having-a-Euro-Gamma-Meeting.
A lot of cross-communication has been via this Forum, some by personal- meetings - in a lot of countries - & more has been done by phone calls, emails & smoke-signals in & too a lot of countries.

There has been so much +++ feedback & input that the Meeting will 100% become a reality, but not in 08 !

Numerous other Gamma 08 Meets are already set; so jamming another Meeting in would result in, at best, a half-successful venture.

At todays "planning-comittee-meeting" in Germany , 3 of us attending, there was, in actuality, the voice of many Gammisti heard.

The Euro Consensus of many voices is " Spring-09-Meeting-Torino".

As the best "centralized-location", that doesn't require departure from home days & days in advance (Australia excepted)


Dietmar F., Black Gamma Coupe 2 , will coordinate France "pre-event event.

Wolfgang S. Gold Gamma Coupe 2 plans an 'interesting/exciting/scenic- ro ute" from S'burg to Torino. Not "on the beaten-path": nor, he promises miles & miles of only Autobahn.

S'burg to Torino, counting coffee-breaks, is less than 8 hours.
In lieu of a single long-convoy, groups will be "teamed-up" to proceed across the Alps.

The "in-Italia-happenings" will be the responsibility of those who can do it best.......this means, of course, the "locals".

In the next weeks it will be determined if the potential dates conflict with National Holidays or other "undesirable-factors" that would make the Meeting anything less than a total success.

Target dates are - 4th week / weekend in April 2009.

It has been decided, by all involved, that the Meeting will not include "stressful, dangerous, competitive or strenuous activities" ...since the drive - for most-everyone attending - will be strenuous enough.

As many of you / us have said in the last months: Lancia Gamma & Gammisti-People are the Theme. Activities appropriate to this Theme are planned.
This doesn't include Hang-Gliding, Snow- Boarding étc...but, there will be surprises & unexpected thrills....... oooooooohhh !!!

Pleeze mark/note/reserve this "week/weekend" in/on your calender now, so that no other major Gamma / Lancia / other Auto Event will prevent every 'Gammisti in Europe who is able to attend' - from attending.

WE NEED YOU !!!

Help us get the word out to the remotest corners of Europe.

its been 1year since this meeting was announced. Booking deadline has passed, but it doesn't matter ...since all "space available" was booked with Gamma Teams from NL, UK, Irl, Norway, USA, D, Italia.

No idea why no 1 from F, CH, AT ?
it is the middle of school year & lots of families can't get away.
many persons registered a "wish to attend, but have no possibility" That is sad & we are very sorry.
But it is too late to get on board now, the bus is full.
but we will discuss 2010, 2011 etc & keep you posted

According to all (secret) sources there will be 54 teams attending & driving on the roof of the (ex) Fiat Factory at the Lingotto Center. At what speeds remains to be seen.

Good Weather has been organized with an appropriate Authority

Did you know that the late Pope John rode in a modified Gamma Coupe, blessing the crowds ? Lucky Him !

That "Blessed-Gamma" is now in good hands in England ! I do not know if it will return to Torino this year ?
