Skyhook

Hi! I am considering about getting an used Thesis and I would like to ask for following:
First, how can I find if some specific car has Skyhook system? AFAIK it was optional so not every Thesis has it.
Second, how expensive is Skyhook shock absorber replacement? I have some experience with active suspension systems and it is usually very costly as original shock absorbers costs about 800EUR per piece and there are no aftermarkets for that. How it is with Thesis and Skyhook?
Thanks for helping me!

Hi,
The Skyhook is standard on all Theses, I think.
The shock absorber is quite pricey. The reference price is around 600 euros per unit, but that does not include the dealer's profit. The local Lancia dealership here always charges exactly double the reference price, so I have so far avoided buying though them.
On the other hand, after 193.000 km, the shock absorbers are absolutely fine on my Thesis.
BTW, if the suspension feels too hard, there's an easy trick to repair that. One capacitor (that cost around 50 cents) must be replaced in the Skyhook ECU. Instructions are available at
thesis-treffen.de. They are written in German only, but the photos are self-explanatory enough. Just make sure that you get a capacitor with high enough voltage rating and that you install it with the correct polarity.

There was no choose. Each one has a skyhook. There's none without the skyhook in the world.

No they arent. Believe me. We were responsible for the shocks.

I've always thought every Thesis was equipped with Skyhook because I've never seen one without. The part numbers that "racing" gave revealed that a conventional (non-Skyhook) suspension seems to exists, but it's limited to the armoured models only, plus a "special version: Aziende". Does anybody know what this "aziende" model is? The word gives a hint that it might be a model aimed at fleet sales, so it probably has not made its way to regular customers. It also looks like that this "aziende" version was only available as JTD 10v with manual transmission, but I may be reading the data incorrectly. The armoured versions are always V6 with automatic transmission, right?

By the way also the blindata version was build with konventionell shocks.

Like I wrote:) Blindata is just Italian for armoured.
