Dear Pierluigi

Do you have any troubles with the gearbox which is fitted now. Which kind of ?
Scratchy noise when accelerating ? Gears do not work ? Engine stalls ?

Let me know, maybe there is a cure.

Mine is dead ! look forward to a conversion to manuall. Tell you more about this later.

Best regards,

René

Hi all owning a Gamma with automatic transmission,

In Switzerland is a workshop near Lucerne with fame for repairing Lancia AT gear boxes.
They are not cheap, approx € 3000,- for a complete overhoal, but they do an excellent job.

Look at their homepage in the Internet (unfortunately only in German) but they have personnel speaking also English and Italian:

Thanks Hermann and thanks Renè for your answers.

My AT gear box runs well without noise also on climbing hill or mountains roads.

Its problem is mainly the "D" speed when the car is stopped and it needs to restart .
It happens not always but very often. So now I start always with the speed 3 or 2 which always work also if stopped.

Then , after started and moving, I move immediately from 3 to "D" and then , running, I've no problems.

I can survive with this small problem but I'm afraid it is the beginning of bigger problems : what do you think ?

Ciao and Good Gamma-Year !

Pierluigi

Dear Pierluigi

What do you mean exactly with "restart problem" ?

1. Starting the engine in "N", then switching to "D", then the engine stalls ?
2. Or, do you have the problem when you come to a cross-road, you break and stop and then you have not enough speed in "D" so engine stalls.

Problem 2. could be the adjustment of the idle speed. Maybe you noticed that the accelerator throttle chamber on the automatic car has got an extra valve fitted. This has an influence on the idle speed, too. As we have a hight torque with the automatic gearbox when the car is stopped in "D"(normally you don't have to switch in "N" like with the manual gearbox) we need more power. The moment the car is stopped in "D" this valve seems to push on the accelerator throttle and increases the idle speed.

Will send you pictures and more information in a sperate email.

Best regards,

René

Dera René,

* Yes, it is.

* No, in this case it works ( or it works at least at the 95% of times) .

* Interesting, i wait for your email , thanks !!!!

Why not a Meeting with CX and Gamma berlina only ? We can work on it !

Ciao
