Flavia Vignale Convertible. Where to get parts/manuals

Hi All. I own a 1963 Flavia Vignale convertible that is in need of full restoration.
Its a car I intend to keep for a couple of reasons, I've been restoring Italian cars for 30 years, I love Lancia's, I love the lines of the car, its the same age as me and as far as I know it was the only Vignale convertible ever to be registered in Northern Ireland.

However I am going to need quite a lot of parts, specially door cards, window regulators, door handles, wiper motor etc, basically all the fiddly bits. I would also like to find any type of workshop manual or technical manuals that might be available. For that matter any other type of brochures that I can get as the last owner lost everything.

So I'm hoping to get all the help I can with gathering up the bits I need. The restoration will be a slow one due to other restorations and work getting in the way but just knowing where to get things is half the battle.

Thanks in advance, Stuart

Hello Stuart,

I'm a vignale owner as well; I need to make my compliment to you for the courage to start this restoration but I'm sure you will be succesfull ! ;)

About manual there is nothing specific for vignale apart some appendix to the main spare part one where you can find (very small) drawings and p/n references; there is also some addendum for the maintenance manual but not so much useful.

Of course for many things, the engine and mechanics in particular, vignale share almost 99% of parts with the berlina (saloon) or coupè, then the work here is easy; by the way I guess you have a 1800cc 815.300 engine (I see the water bottle on the right..) so this should be even more easy to find spare parts; where instead I can see a lot of troubles to find is on body parts but...good luck!

Hi Stuart. Welcome to the Flavia restoration game. I have recently completed an1800 Coupe in New Zealand where there are also very few of these cars. You are nearer to the main sources for parts though so it should be easier. I reconstructed most of the trim in my car using new backing boards and salvaging as much of the stainless steel as possible. I made a new dashtop with a little effort as mine had completely disintegrated. The shapes are fairly straightforward to copy with little moulding involved. I search Ebay.it regularly and you might also want to look at the website lanciaflavia.it which has a link to another Italian trading site called Autobelle. Many of the Italian dealers advertise stock here so it is easy to get in contact. I have used Spitline, Cavalitto, Formula Vintage and Amadei Ricambi, all of whom have been good. In the UK I have used Omicron who are also very helpful and knowledgeable. I am not being paid by any of these people so this is in the spirit of helpful advice. It may be useful for you to see other cars to figure out what your missing parts look like and readers of the forum are usually happy to help out with reference photographs. I am in contact with someone in Christchurch NZ who is restoring a Vignale and will pass on any enquiries.

Best of luck,

Michael Findlay

Guys thank you for coming to my car and my rescue and all your pointers. Its going to be a long road but I'm determind to bring this car back to life so will be really relying on you all to keep me right.

As I restore cars, mostly Italian, I shouldn't have to many issues with bodywork and as you say the mechanics should be relatively straight forward. It's definately going to be all the trim that will cause me sleepless nights so your contacts will be priceless.
I'm goiing to post the entire build as I go along on my site in the hope it may be of use to others.

I probably wont start into the car until next year due to the other cars I have to get out of the way first but I am now going to start gathering parts were I can.

Again thank you all, I look forward to making some new friends along the way.
