Smoky Dedra 2000 turbo

Message:
It was national no smoking day yesterday but my Dedra Turbo didn't take any notice.

The HC's are way up and it smells bad. It seems to burn clean for a few minutes, until it has warmed up or it is revved. After this I get blue smoke and stinky smell.

If I rev the car to above 3000 rpm, the smoke all but disappears, as does the smell.

The spark plugs look perfect, no oil fouling.

What is up with this engine?? Why does it clear up after 3000 rpm?

TIA
RAZ

Raz,

Your problem could be the first signs of the turbo going, until the engine is warm the oil is passing the turbo seals and burning. When the engine is warm the seals do their job until you put pressure on them (turbo comes in at approx 3000rpm) i think on the dedra.
