Hi there


I own a 92' Dedra 1.6 i.e. that i bought a month ago and this sunday i finnaly decided to install my car audio. The previous owner should be a guy with a lot of plastic bags, since all the wiring were isolated by it.
My four speakers are just working fine, but i'm still lacking one very important thing: The antena!!!
Near the antena, there are three wires (yellow, brown and red) that are just cutted off a few inches after they leave the antena body. On the ground there are two wire, one red/green and another completly red.
On the radio side, only two come ... One red/green and a black one .....
And i only have one wire left to connect on the radio connector.

After this explanation, could anyone help to connect my antena???



Another question is the front fog lights. I have both with H3 Osram (already in the car, checked them in a friend's car and are working). But when i hit the button (near the handbrake) nothing happens. Not even the light on tha dashboard. Checked the sistem with a multimeter and changed the fuse, but still no news..

Any ideas on this one???

the wriring instructions for the stereo are in owners manual. But it sounds as if your electric aerial relay may be missing I will look at mine and get back to you.I

I still don´t have the owners handbook, so if you just could take a look at your antena and tell me wich wires connect to the other wires, i would be greatfully happy!!!

The green and red wire is the switching wire at the stereo end it connects to the aerial/amp switch wire (its blue on japanese made stereos).
At other end is more dificult because all the atennas vary. The red wire on the car is an always live wire so powers the antena, the green/red one switches. Out of the wires you have one will probably be ground, one will switch the relay and one will power the antena. This is asuming the relay is inside antena like mine and not external and missing (like on my VW). If relay missing then the wires are up, down and earth!
Even with a multimeter its dificult to work out which is which. Your best bet is to see if you can remove cover off motor assy. on antena.

if you are in England, have you a Charlie Browns, their standard replacement electric aerial for any make was exactly the same as the original equipment on my 1990 1.8 Dedra. no fiddling with wires.
