Fuel leakage from the fuel pipes.Big Danger just 4 days ago!!

Unread post by Antonios »

4 days ago after filling up my fuel tank (65 liters of unleaded gasoline) I have seen my fuel going down on the road from the front of my fuel tank. The danger was so big. In 10 minutes 15 liters were on the road. I called the fire department and my service dealer. I closed the road were I was, and took far away my mobile. Thanks god nothing happened. My dedra and me are still safe. The service dealer told me that the two fuel pipes are sitiated to close, that in 10 years time from the scrathing to eact other they are cut. He changed the destroyed one for only 15 euros. Check the fuel pipes of your dedra. Maybe in the future it may happen to any of you.

Advisable for all Dedra owners to have these pipes checked as I believe Lancia have recently been
forced by Italian courts to issue a re-call on approximately 40000 Dedras manufactured circa 1990 for repairs to a " fumey petrol tank ". Could possibly be connected to the problems you experienced, anybody know more about this re-call?

P.S. Good luck to them trying to find all these cars!!

Josh,

If you take off the petrol filler cap, around the filler neck you will see a green coloured seal around the filler pipe, get a new one from Fiat/Lancia dealer, in your case I would suggest Chris Bastow at Beta Car or Desira in Norfolk,
, If you still have a smell or even before, if you get under the car(suitably supported) just in front of the offside rear wheel you will find a canister fuel filter, just check this for leaks, if it is ok don't be tempted to "just give it a turn" as this probably will start it leaking!

Attention if the pomp fuel of the reservoir spoils!!
ATTENTION!!Always change or to modify the cork that connects the pipes of the gasoline!!
When tightens the die breaks the pivot of fixing of the tubbis not to Use Glue to Replace The Piece Or Solid Modifies!!
