central locking fealure

Unread post by Antonios »

I have a 1,6 i.e. dedra 1990 with 120.000. The only problem that the service dealers in Greece haven't yet solved is a fealure of the central locking system. The co-drivers door lock works perfectly, the drivers door central locking doesn't work. When the drivers door is unlocked and the others stay locked the rpm shows 0, and the gasoline counter shows approximatly 10litres less!!!. I have changed twice the drivers locking device without any result.
On the other hand the car all these years is looking as new, and I managed to change the real lights with the new ones without any tranformation 6 years ago(the adaptor is the same).
5 months ago I changed the rims with the 15'' of the Dedra Integrale with the new tyres Uniroyal Rainsport. They are just perfect when it rains. In Greece the rain is not so often but our roads are all the year so "glossy".

Many thanks in advance
Antonios from Greece

It costed 180 euros (new ones) without the working time because I changed them my self. I think that the prices in the rest of EU must be lower than Greece. If you have any photos of your car send them to my e-mail, and I will send you my dedra. And if you have time next time you go to your Lancia Service Dealer ask him about my central locking fealure, in Greece they just can't solve it. Thanks

hi

in belgium the lights cost approximately 250 euros, so its even more expensive then greece. i know this because i wanted them but i think 250 is a bit too much.

about the locks, i have no idea. i have problems with mine also. my rear doors lock sometims, and sometimes they don't. very weird.....

To Antonios and Don Brodka...
I haved same problem like Don, but i solwed it very easy. ops forget to telling you that i live in Bulgaria. Here spare parts are very expensive. I by second electric mechanism (kind of these that fit in all cars) it's about 10 euro here. I install part, that is cost 0 euro ;-). And my lock is like new, no problems after that. This i do 1 year ago. Antonios for you i think you have other kind of problem. To you i thing problem is in electrical system of your Dedra not in locking mechanism... My friend who have 1990 Dedra 2.0 (i have 1.6 ie 92) have diferent problem, but may be his problem may help (ohh my terible English, will try to expalin, but don't know do you be able to understand me). Ok he tald me that his car start to warming up very fast. after 2-3 minutes indicator on dashboard going up (without stop at normaly about 90 degrees) and after 1-2 minutes indicator says 130 degrees. He afraid that he owerheating engine and opens front cover and he expect a big hot from engine, but engine was at normal temperature you can touch it without burn your hand. In service they find that indicator is ok, the thing in the head of engine (i don't know word) was too ok, but the problem exist. After unmounting the dashboard they find few wires with damaged insulation touches with body and some minuses are THE PROBLEM.
For this i thing you must check all your electric system. sorry to telling you this but... may be helpful
