Webasto installation

Unread post by vlad47 »

Please someone who has webasto for some help. I'm gonna install one too and I want to have it in original state. I would like if you can give me some more info about the exact original thesis connections, mounting etc. I know it's installed under the front right fender. In eper there are two different additional cable kits. Do I need both of them? Where is the webasto position? Where do the water pipes go?
I know I need Thermo Top C (fiat) version with CAN module so the cabine ventilation could work.

Dear Vlad,
some years ago I was asking the same question to my dealer and he told me that the problem might be to connect the Webasto auxiliary heating to the Connect system in case you want to use the Connect interface for programming in addition to the remote control.
Best regards,
Bob

I'm looking for info about this for more than a year and I know it's possible. In webasto they told me that it's not a problem, it can be connected directly as easy as for example in skoda octavia (sry for naming this uncar on this forum, but they had one there with the same question as I did). There are two different connection types. Analog and can. If I use can would I suppose was the webasto dealer solution I had to use as mentioned before, fiat version because others have different instructions. After some research in original italian repair manual it seems that this is the solution. The connection is only to the control unit (under the front right fender) - 2 connection adapters. The third adapter is for the webasto water pump. The antenna is somewhere near the front ceiling control unit.
Simply said it's possible and it's the right time to start as the winter is here again.
