BRAKE fluid help URGENT please!

Hi - I'm English but I live in Italy, but I don't speak Italian - I have an old 1988 Prisma and I have to check the brake fluid today before a long trip. I don't understand the Italian user manual - I'm supposed to push the rubber blister on top of the fluid reservoir? - Then what? What am I supposed to look out for?
Please help me if you can by responding quickly.
Sincerely,
Adam

Hi Adam,
The rubber thing on top of the reservoir is a button, which will lit up a warning light in the dash. The purpose of this button is to check if the wiring is ok for the warning light (this is the same warning light as the one which is to lit up when the brake fluid is too low). Don't be alarmed if it doesn't work - just remember to check the brake fluid level.
BTW: It is a good idea to change brake fluid every 3 or 4 year, as its ability to be warmed up without boiling is decreased by time, due to condensing of water in the brake system.
