Whats it cost to run your delta evo in the last year?

Unread post by Lee »

thinking about buying a circa 94 evo and would like to know if they spend more time off the road than on it, what sort of costs are involved in running one, i have a mitsu vr4 at the moment and they are not cheap to run but reliable.
What has yours cost to run in the last year and what is the biggest expense.
Cheers in advance

Lee,

I do not run an Integrale but can offer some advice. The cars you will be looking at are the latest but are still 9 years old. They are reliable in as much as they don't breakdown, but do require ongoing attention. Unlike the Mitsi Evo and Subaru they do not make much allowance for being a road car except for plush interior and rear seats from the rally car. Do get the car looked over by one of the specialist, so at least you should know what needs doing and get the price reduced accordingly. Things that get over looked by some cutting corners are the suspension bushes, fitted aroud £100 per corner, these need doing approx 10-20k. Hope this doesn't put you off.

beg your pardon, i,ve verget to tell you
that the first blue baby had costs every
year abaut 1500 euro.
the evo is much more expensiv.
cause traction and specially the
hi-class motor.
and you have to learn to drive
such a car.
no fear
try it

I owned one for about 9 months. I used it every day....all day! i was house husbanding at the time ( yeh i know, nice life if you can get it ) so i'd use the car for an average of 3 hours a day. At the point which i stuffed it in a scottish ditch it had cost approx. £1000 in odds, not to mention £2000 to insure it ( i was 32 at the time, but i've had a few points and claims) but it was just getting ready for a new clutch, added to which i did all my own maintanence (that way i knew it was done right ). Most of the cost was tyres....if you drive the thing hard it EATS 'em....i'm not joking you could get through a set of fronts in a day easy!!. Other things i bought include master an' slave for the clutch, brake lines, brake shoes, but by far the biggest expence was fuel.....if you like to put your foot down, an' i do, it'll cost you. I recon the fuel bill was £30 a day average.......i'm not tryin' to put you off, an' i'm sure you can run one for a lot less but you need to be aware that this kind of machine is a costly companion.....oh but soooo beautiful. If i had the choice i'd have another one tomorrow but my financial situations changed now ( it bankrupted me ; ) .......an' the joy i used to get when i'd let my girlfriend drive an' i'd be the passenger. The faces of the guys when they saw a female driver.......worth every penny
